Membership

OCCSC is a non-profit, non-partisan, charitable organization that provides programs and services to advance the social, cultural and economic integration and participation of all newcomers, immigrants, refugees, as well as, people of Chinese heritage. 

 

We provide one-stop services including; Settlement, Language, Employment support, Youth services and Volunteer opportunities. We have successfully been serving the community for the past 48 years! 

 

In the past year, we have helped 3,381 newcomers and immigrants. Each of the following clients that received one unique settlement service included 2130 Chinese, 568 Arabic, 525 Ukrainian, and 158 others. 1501 clients received English training; 758 LINC students & 743 new unique clients. With our current employment services partnerships (LHL, JSW, World Skills, and ESDC) we have been able to provide 321 clients with soft skills training, 106 with referral and assessments, 108 with counselling sessions, 106 with JSW workshops, and 35 with a-la-carte sessions. 138 have received EEFW training, completing 94 workshops. Our WeChat account has received 6500+ followers, posting 300+ messages every year to introduce our free services and workshops to the community.  We also recruited many volunteers who contributed several hours to assist our clients. have landed their dream job with the help of OCCSC. 

 

Other than government funding, OCCSC relies on the community, individual donations and sponsorships, to support seniors, youth, and people with special needs. We also run additional operational programs that are not funded by the government which include the Volunteer program, Virtual Youth and Homework Club, Youth Leadership Program, WeChat, and the OCCSC Ukrainian program. Your donations and support are crucial for these programs to exist.

 

Other than making donations, becoming our member helps us identify our goal and supports us financially. Therefore, we sincerely invite you to join our yearly membership!

To become a member, please apply in-person at any of the locations below. The membership fee is $10.00 ($5 for seniors) and is valid for one year. All personal information is kept confidential.
